Server Status

2003-10-08 18:00:00 - Moved to new server, move should have been seamless.

2003-04-25 16:55:00 - Intermittent access problems for 10 minutes or so.

2003-02-08 13:30:00 - Server was reset for reasons unknown, other servers of ours at the same ISP were reset at the same time leading us to belive it was a power cut. How they conspired to defeat two independent power supplies (coming in to different sides of the building), a UPS and a backup generator is somewhat beyond my comprehension. Perhaps the power supplies are only there in spirit form, their corporeal presense not yet achieved (rather like the two independent internet connections).

2002-12-19 13:30:00 - Rebooted for kernel upgrade after 92 days of uptime. Needed to fix TF/NT eflags bug. Fixed a bug in NETLINK target, removed debug flags from some netfilter stuff. Nothing too serious.

2002-12-15 21:00:00 - Access lost between 9pm right up until about 1am. No access to our server or any other legend servers, except of course the legend website which always manages to stay reachable during these outages. I wonder why we can't host this server right next to theirs ;)

2002-10-08 15:00:00 - I notice an excessive amout of large UDP frames being spammed to some other host. I have no idea why we could see it unless we were in a hub but in that case I would have seen everyones traffic. Quick analysis of the packets looked like cisco netflow stuff. Anyway - I don't think it affected performance and it stopped when I pinged one of the hosts, maybe they were ethernet broadcast just with a unicast address set in the IP header.

2002-10-06 14:00:00 - Connection to the outside world ups-and-downs for 15 minutes. Could have been going on for much longer, I don't know.

2002-09-17 16:57:00 - Rebooted for a kernel upgrade, the outage lasted five minutes tops.

2002-09-10 12:04:00 - Foundation and all the boxes alongside it dissapear off of the net for 10 minutes. Legend claims no knowlege of any fault - their website stayed up anyhow.

2002-09-03 15:00:00 - Our ISP moves our box to another rack. All services are down for about half an hour.

2002-09-03 12:30:00 - We upgraded qmail to support TLS so mail may have taken longer than usual or even bounced for a 30 minute period. We firewalled the port so MTAs should have seen a temporary delivery failure rather than seeing a permanent one and bouncing.

2002-03-04 11:30:00 - Intermittent network connectivity problems, presumably with our upstream router.

2002-02-22 10:01:00 - Power cuts out for 15 minutes.

2002-02-11 17:15:00 - Foundation disappears off of the internet for 45 minutes without warning, legend inform us this is due to "routing issues".

2002-01-27 21:30:00 - Accidentally broke qmail for about 30 minutes, mail may have bounced or not been delivered.

2002-01-07 14:14:00 - Server was booted up. We had rebooted for a kernel upgrade after over 140 days of uptime.
